Rise: Yoga + Stress Management

  • Convivium Urban Farmstead 2811 Jackson Street Dubuque, IA, 52001 United States (map)

Welcome to our very first gathering of Rise, a program designed specifically for Junior and Senior High School girls in the Dubuque area. We are on a mission to equip teenage girls with education and skills for real life.

At our first event, we welcome Krissy Mueller of B1 Yoga and Molly Schrieber of Challenge to Change as they take us through a free yoga class, and talk about all things stress management. We strive to make Rise a place for young women to make friends and find support in the transition to adulthood phase of life.

About Krissy Mueller

Krissy is a certified 95-hour kids yoga instructor and an E-RYT 500-hour certified adult yoga instructor. She was previously a special education teacher, working with kids from elementary through high school level. She is working on her master’s in education with a focus on mindfulness and trauma-informed practices.

Yoga became a more regular part of her practice over 8 years ago and it changed every aspect of her life. Knowing what yoga did for her own well-being and seeing what it has done for her kids, made Krissy passionate about wanting to share it with others on a more regular basis. After a few years as studio manager and instructing many classes at B1, she had the privilege of purchasing B1 from former owner Cally Burkle and now that is her full-time gig.

When not teaching kids yoga with Challenge to Change or hanging out at the yoga studio, you will find her with her 3 kids, husband, and many pets, spending time with friends, saving animals, and enjoying the outdoors.

About Molly Schrieber

Molly is the Founder + CEO of Challenge to Change, Inc., a fitness and yoga enthusiast, inspirational speaker, children’s book author, and wellness coach.

"Starting my own business was scary and exciting for me all at the same time. At the age of 30, I was widowed with three young children. The love of my life died in a car accident and left me with a three-year-old and 15-month-old twins. At this tragic time in my life I had to make the choice: do I survive or thrive. I decided to thrive. I decided to turn my mess into a message. Over the next couple of years, I raised my babies the way Kyle and I would want them to be raised. I remarried a wonderful man named Tom Schreiber, and he adopted my children to raise as his own. During this time I also started my business, Challenge to Change, Inc. I wanted to inspire people to be healthy, happy, and live a positive life. I named my business, Challenge To Change, because I wanted people to understand that the power to change and live a good life is within us. It does not come from outside of ourselves. Each choice we make leads us exactly where we need to be, and knowing that can be very powerful,” -Molly Schrieber
