Your entry fee to Recess includes a 45-minute Self Defense class led by a Wahlert Wrestling Coach Joel Allen, Dinner by Flatted Fifth Blues + BBQ, a She Unites Goodie Bag, and a Donation for Dubuque Y Crisis Services. Pre-registration is required! Class size maxes out at 50 registered participants. Class will begin promptly at 6:00 PM, Dinner will follow at 6:45, and socialization running until sunset.

Our Crisis Line, Emergency Shelter, and Extended Stay services provide immediate and critical interventions, with our overall goal to increase survivor safety. Our service provision is built around providing quality, client-centered, trauma-informed services that promote self-sufficiency and increase successful outcomes for survivors’ unique, individualized needs. DYCS prioritizes women and children experiencing various types of gender-based violence such as Domestic Violence / Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Assault, Human Trafficking, and Other Violent Crimes.
