Welcome to Rise, a program designed specifically for High School girls in the Dubuque area. We are on a mission to equip teenage girls with education and skills for real life.

Join us at Rise in February for a discussion on Sleep Architecture at our brand-new location, the University of Dubuque! We will be meeting in the MTAC building on campus for Rise during the second semester. See below for campus map!

Rachel Herman, MS, RN, APNP

Rachel is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is a graduate of The University of Iowa and Northern Illinois University. Her healthcare background has included Intensive Care, Infectious Disease, and Primary Care with a special interest in Adolescent & Young Adult medicine. College Health is her favorite area, and she sees students for primary care needs through age 22 yrs as the Administrative Director of Student Health at UW Platteville. Rachel loves spending time with her husband, children, and riding horses!

What to Expect

Come to the University of Dubuque MTAC Building Room 149, every 2nd Wednesday of the month from September - May for Free Coffee, Free Community, and Free Education. No pre-registration is required. Any and all High School Girls in the Dubuque area are welcome at Rise regardless of what school they attend.

7:00 PM | Come in. Grab a Drink. Make a Friend

7:15 PM | Educational Time

7:45 PM | Sleep Spray DIY

8:15 PM | Head Out or Hang Out

9:00 PM | Last Call. Time to Go Home

About our Venue

We are thrilled to host Rise at University of Dubuque beginning in 2023. We will be in the Charles Romona Myers Building (MTAC), Room 149. Parking is available in the lot at the intersection of Bennet St and University Park Drive. Room 149 is on the ground level of the building straight in the doors accessible on Bennet Street. We will have our She Unites sign out front and volunteers waiting to guide you inside.
