Let’s Talk About Sex

Speaker: Denise Stapley, Licensed Mental Health Counselor & AASECT Certified Sex Therapist

You asked. We delivered. We are thrilled to close out our 2023 programming year with Denise Stapley with an open dialogue conservation about sex. Denise encourages each of you to lean into your own discomfort as we open up conversations of curiosity around sexuality that often remain taboo or simply avoided. Come with questions and curiosity in our safe and brave space.

Denise Stapley is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she’s been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor & AASECT Certified Sex Therapist for the last 25 years. In her time there she’s had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of clients for a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, & grief/loss, along with more sexually focused concerns around sexual pain/discomfort, libido discrepancies, couples intimacy, as well a gender identity & expression.

Denise knows that while she may not always be the expert in the room, she will always be an ally in the process. And that a mix of collaboration, healthy challenge, encouragement, and a bit of humor are a part of what she believes leads to a successful therapy experience.

As a side note, you my also recognize Denise from the CBS reality show Survivor where she first competed in Season 25 & again in Season 40 for Winners At War. Through both her practice & her time on the islands, Denise has come to firmly believe that there is almost always benefit in the discomfort of life in those moments of struggle. And... if we can lean into it...that’s where the growth occurs.

All are welcome. All are worthy. All belong.

We are proud to be a 100% donation-supported organization. Our spaces, speakers, and programming are all gifted by those who support our vision. #bettertogether
