Due to the recent change in weather, our hike at Mines of Spain will be canceled on April 2. We hope to reschedule soon!

We are expanding our Recess programming! Join us this April for a guided spring hike through Mines of Spain. Guide courtesy of Dubuque County Conservation.

We will meet at the Farmstead Parking Lot and hike the Calcite Trail (1.4-mile loop) at 9:30 AM. Our guide will take us on an hour and a half or so hike on a lesser traveled trail at Mines of Spain to see some spring wildflowers. All are welcome regardless of experience! This is FREE to attend, BUT please register so we know you are coming and don’t leave without you! If you want to join us in the She Unites mission, please consider making a donation when registering for this event. Every dollar helps us grow our organization and make an impact in the lives of women in the Dubuque region.

What is She Unites Recess? Our Recess programming is our intentional community-building activity-based program. We are on a mission to connect amazing women through unique opportunities that get us out of our comfort zones.

The official address of the parking lot we are meeting at is 11475 Mines of Spain Rd. Dubuque, IA 52003. See the map below for details. This is the big circle lot that you enter at the stop sign about halfway through the park. We recommend carpooling if possible as this is a smaller lot and to save the planet and all.
