Creating Change Through Creativity

In March, we welcomed Jenni Brant to the She Unites stage for a discussion on the arts, creativity, and community development. From murals, to ceramics, and everything in between, the arts propel communities forward. And Jenni walked us through some incredible projects that sparked all sorts of idea.

The first thing we need to talk about is what the arts can impact. Yes, it is easy to think just simply ‘culture.’ But its so much more than that. Transportation, agriculture, public welfare, housing, economic development and so much more. Jenni shared with us this incredible tool that you should definitely check out talking about all the impacts of art on these different sectors of society. Here are a few for example…

Agriculture: “ The arts encourage health habits, empower access, and spur innovation to make more healthy food possible.”

Transportation: “Underlying systems-helping plan them, making them safer, ensuring they’re integrated into communities-is, you guessed it, the arts.”

Housing: “The arts are a powerful tool to help advocate for housing needs, innovate for new housing models, and drive conversations to build homes in communities that thrive.

Now for the data. The numbers don’t lie about the arts. The impact is there!

So what can you do… Participate, Get Involved, and Adovcate for the Arts.
