Where Civic Engagement, Community Building, and Creativity Intersect: An Introduction to Creating Change through Creativity  

Speaker: Jenni Petersen-Brant, Director of Communications at Greater Dubuque Development Corporation

Jenni Petersen-Brant is currently the Director of Communications for Greater Dubuque Development as well as a working ceramic artist with an active exhibition and art fair schedule. Prior to joining the team at Greater Dubuque Development, Jenni served as the Arts & Cultural Affairs Manager for the City of Dubuque from 2019-2023. Over the past 15 years, she has dedicated much of her time on and off the clock to empowering communities and facilitating connections through nonprofit, community-driven arts and cultural programs. 

Jenni holds an MFA in Ceramics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BFA in Ceramics from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She is currently a Board Member for the Dubuque County Fine Arts Society, a member artist with the Twenty Dirty Hands Pottery Tour and serves on the Iowa Arts Council’s Cultural and Entertainment District Advisory Committee. In 2023, Jenni was recognized as an Up and Coming Leader by the Women’s Leadership Network of Dubuque and received Special Recognition for Arts Service from the Governor’s Arts Awards. She and her four feline fur babies (Georgia Lee, Claire, George, and Charli) call Dubuque home.
